Is there anything better than gooey, melted cheese?! Or maybe buttery garlic bread? Mmmm… I love that this recipe for cheesy garlic breadsticks combines BOTH of those things into amazing comfort food!

And did I mention that they are crazy easy to make!? With a simple tube of Pillsbury pizza crust you can make your own freshly baked, homemade breadsticks – with the smell of freshly baked bread AND garlic filling your home. Garlic and butter make me swoon every time. These smell sooooo good!

These cheesy garlic breadsticks are awesome alongside your favourite bowl of soup. Or maybe with salad? You could even serve them on their own with a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping. Yum!

I made a big pot of soup for dinner last night and served these cheesy garlic breadsticks to everyone with a bowl of soup. The kids loved the breadsticks! (I was inspired by the recipe onSugar Apron.)

I made cabbage roll soup last night and sometimes the kids aren’t impressed with the huge amount of vegetables I pack into it. Cabbage is sometimes a tough sell to kids… but along with these breadsticks, everyone finished everything!

Isn’t it an awesome feeling when you make a successful dinner that everyone eats?! Especially a healthy one? Cooking is a lot of work, so it makes me feel so good when everyone enjoys and actually finishes eating what I make!

The full printable recipe is at the end of this post, but here’s what you’ll need:

  • Tube of refrigerated pizza crust
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Garlic
  • Butter
  • Dried oregano leaves (optional)

You can mix and match whatever ingredients you like for these cheesy garlic breadsticks! Double the cheese if you want them extra cheesy. And for the herbs, you can use dried oregano, parsley or even basil.

Roll out the pizza crust onto a parchment lined baking sheet.

Melt the butter. Then crush a clove of garlic and mix it into the melted butter.

Brush the garlic butter evenly over the entire pizza crust.

Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the pizza crust. Then sprinkle the oregano on top.

It works best if you cut the breadsticks BEFORE you bake them. You can use a pizza cutter or large knife to cut it into breadstick shapes. I cut my pizza crust into 16 equal long rectangle pieces, just like in the photo below.

Bake it at 425F for about 12 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly and slightly golden.

After it comes out of the oven, cut the breadstick shapes again with a pizza cutter or knife so they pull apart easily.

Just look at that yummy melted cheese!

They come apart easily so they’re super easy to serve.

I made these at lunch time before I ate my lunch and it was driving me crazy taking these photos! The smell and the melted cheese was just way too tempting so I had to sneak a few delicious bites behind the scenes.

I made this recipe exactly as your recipe and they did not rise. They were flat like a thin pizza crust. what did I do wrong? They look so yummy and much higher in your pictures.

Hi Gail! Sorry it didn’t work out for you… since it’s a pre-made pizza crust it’s hard to diagnose what went wrong. Maybe they needed to bake a bit longer in your oven?
