The G95 is a stronger GPU but it has an overheating issue - it can heat up to 45º higher than normal. Based on my experience with my old phone, the Realme 7, this happened while playing Genshin at low settings and high graphics on Mobile Legends. The G99 GPU is weaker than the G95, but it's cooler. The temperature of my Realme 10 measures between 36º and 43º while playing Genshin at low settings and in Ultra mode in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

The G95 has a better GPU than the G99, but it also runs hotter which can lead to a diminished experience without a cooling device. In PUBGM, the G95 can play at Low60/HDR40 while the G99 plays at HD/HDR30 or Low/Med40; both of them reach and maintain the highest fps. In Genshin Impact, with low resolution/low detail/anti-aliasing on/60fps settings, the frame gap between them is around 10fps (G95 is around 40, G99 is around 30). However, neither one is more stable and both experience frame drops; therefore, they perform almost the same. I highly recommend the G99 because its performance is on par with the G95, and there are new phones that run this processor at an affordable price (assuming you only want to buy new phones). Most phones featuring the G95 are older models and the range of the G95 is limited.

The G99 GPU overclocks itself during demanding games like Fortnite. You can play PUBG in Ultra HD at 90 fps on the Samsung A24 if you use a specific app. It doesn't quite reach 90, but it plays at around 75 to 80 fps. I personally have it and I play PUBG with it. The G99 GPU's overclocking performance is superior to that of the G95 GPU.

Honestly, the Helio G95 is just an overclocked chipset due to its 12nm lithography. Yes, it can run heavy games at a very smooth FPS but the question is, does it have thermal issues during long gameplay sessions? The G95 has a very stable chipset because it's a 6nm lithography, meaning it has more transistors than the G85, and can handle multiple heavy tasks without overheating. I think you guys should consider looking at the chipset lithography itself, as it's one of the most important things to consider before buying phones. Make sure you don't purchase phones with overclocked chipsets, otherwise, you risk overheating issues, especially when playing heavy games.

I'm not undervaluing the Helio G99. I'm simply stating that the Helio G95 performs better in gaming, at least in most games. I do agree that the CPU of the Helio G99 is superior, providing a somewhat enhanced experience when playing CPU-intensive games like Genshin Impact. When it comes to GPU performance, however, the Helio G95 comes out on top due to its overall superior GPU. More execution units equate to more processors being integrated into the GPU, similar to CPU cores. So, it becomes clear that 4x900mhz=3600mhz can deliver higher-quality graphics than 2x1100mhz=2200mhz. Please bear in mind that I am referring to a similar GPU range here, not flagship chipsets, because the most critical feature of a GPU is the chipset inside, not the GPU clock speed. That's why the G95 edges out the G99 in terms of GPU performance. You can test them both in games like PUBG, adjusting the settings to the highest level supported by both chips. This way, you can clearly see the difference. You can also try this comparison with other games, like Modern Warships, among others.

What is the GPU clock speed? It is not calculated as 4G × 900 MHz = 3600 MHz. That's incorrect. What is meant by 4 cores is that it still runs at 900 MHz, not 4 cores × 900 = 3600 MHz.

I own a G95 while my mother has a G99, which is also known as the Camon 20. I've been experiencing frame drop issues with the G95 because it heats up to 44 degrees, and using an electric fan doesn't seem to make much difference. Meanwhile, the G99 never reaches above 40 degrees, usually maxing out around 38. This is even with ultra graphics and a 60+ fps, which is why we decided to swap phones. And I must say, I love it.The G95 simply isn't as good for gaming compared to the G99. The G95 also consumes so much battery - around 10% per Mobile Legends match. In contrast, the G99 only uses about 4-6%, maybe even less. Trust me, both phones are great in their own way. Speaking of resolution, the difference between 2K and 4K isn't as noticeable as one might think, especially when it comes to YouTube. Most videos on the platform are displayed at 1080p, and it's rare to find content in 2K and even rarer in 4K.

I recently viewed a video about processors, such as the G95 and G90T, and I noticed that the G99 processor was missing. This surprised me because the G99 is a solid processor. When I commented that the G99 is a high-performing processor with an Antutu score of over 600K, someone responded by saying that the G99 was excluded because it tends to overheat. However, I don't agree with this assertion. It might overheat during heavy gaming—if, for instance, the graphics are set to high or max—because the processor does bear considerable load if used for several hours. Despite this, I have a Tecno Camon 20 Pro 4G and I don't know the exact temperatures it reaches, but in my experience, I've had no issues with the processor. It's a fantastic option for budget phones. I honestly adore this phone.

It rarely hits 40+ degrees, so it doesn't heat up excessively. The phone remains comfortably cool to touch, both on the back and front. In the tech community, the Helio G99 model tends to be underrated. Many people criticize it for its weak GPU compared to the Helio G90, G90T, and G95 models. This criticism, however, isn't entirely fair.

JFVM20 March 2024 19:02

Satvir singh, The Helium G99 doesn't struggle with overheating, but it is less powerful than the G95 due to its inferior GPU. While it may not be as strong as the G95, the G99's lack of heating issues makes it a more stable choice. The power of the G95 is especially noticeable with devices like the Redmi Note 10s or the Little M5s - two separate names for the identical device - which both feature cooling systems. These devices demonstrate the G95's strength in gaming but highlighting its inferiority in multitasking and tasks requiring CPU usage. However, there is one significant detail about the Helium G99 that makes it stand out. When in gaming mode, the G99 increases the frequency of its GPU and exhibits only minor heating, with the maximum usually being up to 40°C. This characteristic can occasionally vary, depending on the device manufacturer's discretion.

JFVM20 March 2024 19:06

Dude, The reason the System on Chip (SoC) is often seen as inferior in gaming is not due to heating problems; it is attributed to the SoC having a less powerful Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Generally, this leads to poorer performance in tasks requiring GPU power, the most notable among these being games. For example, while the Helium G95 has a superior GPU, it is prone to overheating, leading to the issue of thermal throttling. Meanwhile, despite this disadvantage, the Helium G99 has a stronger Central Processing Unit (CPU).Therefore, the Helium G95 performs better in gaming systems that can harness its power without overheating. The Helium G99 does not face this issue due to its smaller transistors, causing it to use less energy and hence heat less.

Well, the Helium G99 itself underperforms mainly due to its GPU, which is why it doesn't perform as well in games. However, the Helium G95 also has average performance because it tends to overheat, and the resulting thermal throttling causes it to lose substantial power. This becomes apparent when we consider a computer with some form of cooling system, like the M5's older sibling, the M5s. Since it has cooling capabilities, it can extract maximum power, and we realize that the Helium G99's performance is somewhat inferior. But it's not a major issue. You mentioned it yourself- the energy management of the Helium G99 is commendable, likely due to its smaller transistors.

The FPS stability is excellent and it loads games unbelievably quickly. Even with demanding games like Fortnite, the Helio G95 manages to run them at high graphics settings with a frame rate of 30-40 FPS, which is really impressive. I switched from the Poco X3 NFC to the Vivo Y73.The G95 chipset is truly impressive; it easily offers a 10% better performance than the 732G.Surprisingly, for a phone with a thin glass back, the Y73's thermal performance outshines the X3, which was bulkier and had a plastic back. It's noteworthy, especially since the X3's marketing highlighted its vapor chamber cooling.Concerning battery drain, it seems to be a Xiaomi-specific issue. It's not solely related to MIUI. Aside from the components listed on the spec sheet, many of Xiaomi's other components, like brightness sensors, proximity sensors, and charging ICs, are more budget-friendly and lack in efficiency and performance. Their competitive pricing can be attributed to their choice of these cost-effective components. My X3's battery life was notably inferior to other brands' 720 and 73x series devices. Similarly, my M3, even with its 6000mAh battery, performed worse than my Oppo A5 2020, which had a 5000mAh battery, despite them having the same chipsets.Interestingly, my Y73, with its 4400mAh battery, gives me the same battery life as I got from the 5000mAh battery in the X3 NFC.

I'm not saying this out of spite, but my friend recently bought a Redmi Note 10S and he's been experiencing heating issues. He keeps advising me not to buy a phone with a G95 processor. At the time, I wasn't sure which phone to buy, but he's been having issues with game lags and crashes, which he attributes to the G95.I took his advice and did extensive research on budget processors, and discovered the G99. Initially, I wasn't considering it because I wanted a phone with a Dimensity 6080, but that was beyond my budget. Upon viewing some gameplay and gauging its performance during daily use, I noticed that the G99 is more optimized than the G95. It ran incredibly smoothly - I found that PUBG mobile can easily reach 85+ FPS on high graphics settings. Of course, performance also depends on the quality of the Wi-Fi connection. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a good phone, I would recommend either the G95 or G99 processors.

Don't even consider the G99 if you're a gamer. The GPU is once again downgraded, similar to the G96. They simply overclock old GPUs. It's disappointing that MediaTek's "new" chips are downgraded in the GPU section😥. The CPU has a slight upgrade, but it still lags behind competitors (SD 750G, SD 778G). Actually, the Mali G57 MC2 is newer than the Mali G76 3EEMC4. The G57 is built on the new Valhall architecture, while the G76 is based on the older Bifrost architecture. Bifrost had its issues - if you know, you know. The G76 is slightly more powerful, maybe by about 5-10%, but in gaming, sustained performance is more important than peak performance. Just take a look at the G57; even though it only has 2 cores, it's still almost as fast as the G76 with 4 cores. Give the G57 some proper optimizations and it's a killer.

Numnum, Please refer to the official sites. The G95 is a streaming processor that delivers remarkable performance in its class. This means it can record at 1080p 60fps while playing PUBG Mobile at UHD with a stable average of 45-50 fps. The G99 falls short in comparison. The Mali G57's clock speed on the G99 is 1100MHz. Do you have any idea how much heat this generates? The GPU is the main culprit for overheating, a fact that is proven (this is why gaming PCs have so many coolers - to keep the GPU's heat at stable levels). Thus, when it comes to gaming, the G95 has the edge. Otherwise, the G99 is slightly better.

ItzWho, Don't overlook the fact that the G99 is built on a notably newer and more efficient 6nm architecture, in contrast to the 12nm architecture of the G95. While the G57's GPU is clocked at 1.1GHz, it's important to note that it only has 2 cores, compared to the 3 in the G95, and is based on the older 12nm architecture. The GPU's clock speed isn't all that crucial, as it rarely operates at its maximum speed. In certain games, like Genshin, the demand for the CPU exceeds that of the GPU. Geekerwan, I believe, elaborated on this in his videos. Having tried both, the G99 is far more power-efficient and runs much more stably without overheating as much. My old G95-powered phone could practically fry an egg while playing Assoluto at max graphics. The only edge the G95 has for me is its support for 4K video recording. However, in many budget to mid-range phones, 4K recording lacks video stabilization.

ItzWho, The G57 is based on the new Valhall architecture, a departure from the older Bifrost architecture. While the G57 in the G99 is clocked at 1.1GHz, it's essential to note that it only has 2 cores, as opposed to the 4 cores in the G76. The Valhall architecture is significantly more efficient than the Bifrost. Moreover, the G99 is fabricated using the 6nm TSMC process, which is more advanced than the dated 12nm process on which the G95 is built. I've used both, and the G99 is undeniably a better-performing chip overall. If you're interested in understanding the differences between the Valhall and Bifrost architectures, I recommend visiting the XDA website.

nom, You can't simply compare the G99 to the G95 in gaming based on a slight difference in benchmark scores. Try running PUBG on UHD settings with the G99 – oh, that's right, it's not supported. Meanwhile, the G95 maintains a stable 45 fps for over 30 minutes, thanks to the excellent G76 Bifrost GPU. Concerned about heating? After 50 minutes of UHD gameplay on PUBG, my phone reached a temperature of 40.5°C. Given that the ambient temperature was 29°C, that's quite impressive for an older processor, wouldn't you agree? ItzWho, You're right; minor differences in benchmark scores often just fall within the margin of error. And yes, the G99 isn't supported for some graphic options in certain games; it needs proper optimization. The G57, by name (G57 vs. G76) and its two cores, may seem a lot slower on paper. However, it's overclocked at 1.1GHz and operates on the superior Valhall 1st Gen architecture, outpacing the older Bifrost. I've used a Redmi Note 10s with the G95, and its sustained performance was disappointingly poor. In Assoluto Racing, set to max graphics and 60fps in multiplayer mode, the device became so hot it felt like you could fry an egg on its back. When it comes to gaming, sustained performance is far more critical than peak performance. The G99 can handle Assoluto with max graphics and 60fps as smoothly as the G95 can. I tested Grid Autosport, and the performance was comparable to the G95. It's undeniable: a G99-powered phone will be more efficient, offer longer battery life, and operate much cooler.

The differences between the two aren't very significant. The GPU of the Helio G99 may be less powerful, but it still maintains its power well. This is quite the opposite of the Helio G95, which has issues with heat generation and subsequent thermal throttling. However, this can be resolved either with a cooler or by using a smartphone that has some type of cooling feature. Recently, I've noticed some peculiar things happening with the Redmi Note 10S. I own this device and use quite a bit of its power, as I play Genshin, emulate consoles like the 3DS, and recently, the Switch. Despite all this, I haven't encountered much overheating, and most of the other apps on the Play Store don't seem to demand as much power. In my experience, my device rarely exceeds 40°C.Yet, it's strange because I've seen many people complain about how much heat their devices generate. I find this curious because my own device hasn't exceeded 40°C, yet I see posts from users saying their phone heats up excessively.

Exactly, budget phones can't capture decent 4K videos. You can't compare a 720p video recorded on a RED camera, equipped with the proper lens and attachments, to one taken on a phone. The RED camera's video will have better detail resolution, even if upscaled from 720p to 4K.However, having 4K as an option does make sense. If a smartphone's 4K quality is subpar, its 1080p quality is likely even worse. So, I'd prefer a phone that can record in 4K.YouTube's 4K quality doesn't match that of a Blu-ray disc. But even on a 720p screen, when you select 4K quality on YouTube, the visuals are crisper with less fuzziness.Similarly, when you choose 4K on a budget phone, there's less noise and fuzziness compared to 1080p, with a bit more resolved detail. The G99 chipset doesn't even support 1080p at 60fps. These new chipsets have poor ISP/codec support. The SD685 4G can't even hardware decode and play videos beyond 1080p. For phones with the 685 chipset, one needs to install a separate player and resort to software decoding to play higher resolution videos.
